SPORTChapter 3

Parameter setup

Configure which additional fields appear on athlete records inside one Macro Unit.

Screenshots show the current English application interface. Button and field names are kept in English where they appear in the image.

What you will learn

  • What the Parameter schema controls for athletes in one Macro Unit
  • How to add, order and edit fields without changing unrelated teams
  • Which field types are available and how Required affects later athlete saves
  • Which schema changes can hide or invalidate existing athlete information

Before you start

  • Open the correct Macro Unit. Each Macro Unit has its own parameter schema.
  • Review existing athlete data before changing a type, requirement or field visibility.
  • Decide on a clear label and the value type that people will enter.
  • Use existing SPORT fields and groups where possible instead of creating near-duplicates.

Key concepts

Parameter schema
The set and order of additional fields shown for athlete records in one Macro Unit.
Field
One item such as Height, Primary Position, Medical Clearance or Stamina Level.
Group
A heading that arranges related fields together, such as Athlete Profile, Body Metrics or Performance. A group does not store a value itself.
Required
An athlete form cannot be saved without a value for that active field.

What parameters control

Understand the boundary before changing the schema.

Available to: Organization Admin
  1. 1Treat the schema as the field layout for athlete UnitMicro records under the selected Macro Unit.
  2. 2Use the Fields table to review labels, value types, current group, required state and display design.
  3. 3Remember that another Macro Unit can have a different schema even inside the same organization.
The Parameter schema tab belongs to the open Macro Unit and combines display design with its athlete fields.

Choose the parameter type

Make athlete input and validation match the intended information.

Available to: Organization Admin
  1. 1Use Text for short text and Long text for notes.
  2. 2Use Integer for whole numbers and Decimal for measurements that can include a fraction.
  3. 3Use Boolean for Yes/No values, Date for a calendar date, and Date and time when time matters.
  4. 4Use Select for one configured choice and Multiselect for several configured choices.
  5. 5Use Group only as a structural heading for child fields; a Group cannot be Required and stores no athlete value.
5

Control whether the athlete form may be saved without a value.

Available to: Organization Admin
  1. 1Use the Required switch in the Fields table for a quick change, or open Edit field.
  2. 2Turn Required on only when the value can be supplied for every affected athlete.

Permissions and important rules

Common problems

Common problemsWhat happens next
The expected field is missing on an athlete.Confirm that you edited the athlete’s preferred Macro Unit, that the field is active, and that its parent group is active.
A type change is rejected.Stored athlete values already exist. Keep the type or create a replacement field and coordinate the transition.
An athlete cannot be saved after a schema change.Check every active Required field. Newly required fields do not receive automatic values.
You cannot edit Select choices or move a field to another group. Those controls are not exposed in the current screen. Do not delete and recreate a populated field as a shortcut.
A deleted field disappeared with other fields.Deleting a Group deactivates all of its descendants. The current UI has no reactivation workflow.
